BENCH DISPLAY
SIGN
BENCH DISPLAY SIGN
PROJECTS
Installed in conjunction with the BeltLine bench prototype, this sign utilizes many of the same materials as the bench itself. The brass and wood create a rhythm orchestrating a pattern of openings/voids in respect to the span between the steel legs. The quarter-sawn oak is treated with the same oxidizing solution as bench seat and will turn to a silver with age. Three different signs of two sizes describe various aspects of the bench including the materials used, orientation options, design methodology, its relationship to the history of Atlanta, and an exploded axo describing the components and build process. The blue color of the steel doesn't do much other than look awesome, shouting at you as you walk by.
